I can relate with him as a freshman basketball player at Oklahoma Christian in 1971 . . . those pesky books and going to class ended up sending me to the Marine Corps in 1972! ha ha Good luck to the young man and hope to see him in Orange and Black someday.

Keep an Eye on Johnson, Our Top Sleeper in Oklahoma Prep Class of 2023
EDMOND – Honestly, Markell Johnson has done a little of everything for Edmond Memorial Bulldogs football. Last season before David McComb situated himself as the quarterback as a freshman, Johnson completed 34-of-68 passing for 603-yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 157-yards on 60 carries. Playing defense, primarily at safety as a 6-4, 195-pound he did a nice job of defending passes and occasionally jumping the quarterback on a safety blitz.
