Oklahoma State Releases Depth Chart for the Arizona State Game
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is set to face Arizona State in Stillwater this coming Saturday, Sept. 10. This marks the first time the Pokes have hosted the Sun Devils since 1991, a 30-3 win for ASU.
The football program released the updated depth chart an hour before head coach Mike Gundy’s weekly Monday press conference.
ASU currently holds a 2-1 advantage over the Cowboys, having won the previous two match ups, a 30-3 win in Stillwater in 1991 and a 12-10 win in Tempe in 1993. The Cowboys’ win came in a 45-3 win over No. 12 Arizona State in Tempe in 1984, which was the start of a 10-win season for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys are fresh off a 58-44 win over Central Michigan in the season opener last Thursday. The win was the 150th for Mike Gundy, making him just the fourth active FBS coach with at least 150 wins at his current school.
Quarterback Spencer Sanders picked up in the season opener right where he left off in the Fiesta Bowl as he finished with 406 passing yards, a career-high, and four passing touchdowns, as well as nine carries for 57 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
There will be two ceremonies honoring former Cowboys on Saturday as running back Terry Miller will be honored for his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame as part of the 2022 class. The other is a group of Cowboy as the 2002 team that won the Houston Bowl will also be honored.
