STILLWATER – We’re starting a new game-week series here at Pokes Report called Over/Under. It’ll be five topics with an over/under associated to them. Then you’ll drop your predictions in the comments below on how you think they’ll turn out.
Oklahoma State is looking to go 2-0 on the season as the Pokes are taking on Arizona State on Saturday, Sept. 10. This will be the fourth all-time matchup between the two programs, with the Sun Devils holding a 2-1 advantage.
Our first Over/Under is going to be Spencer Sanders: Over/Under 350-yards passing
Sanders had one of the best games of his career as he finished the game with 406 passing yards, a career-high, with four passing touchdowns. Can he duplicate those numbers against ASU?
Rushing game: Over/Under 150 yards
It wasn’t the best day for the Cowboy rushers last Thursday as they combined for just 125 yards on 32 carries. They did, however, combine for four touchdowns on the day, two of which came from Spencer. Were the Cowboy backs able to figure some things out this week to be able to eclipse 150 yards, or will we be looking at a similar situation to Central Michigan?
Defense: Over/Under three sacks
The defensive line entered the 2022 season with a lot of hype as they return quite a bit of talent from last year, such as Collin Oliver, Tyler Lacy and Brock Martin among others. The CMU offensive line schemed well to limit the line and limited the Cowboys to just two sacks, with Lacy and Oliver earning one a piece. Can the Cowboys combine for at least three against ASU?
Mason Cobb: Over/Under eight tackles
Mason Cobb had a great first game in his first season as one of the main backs. He recorded 11 total tackles, eight of which were solo stops, 2.5 tackles for loss and one quarterback hurry. Can he keep this trend up and have a similar game to last week?
Tom Hutton: Over/Under 42 yards per punt
Tom Hutton had a solid day punting the ball last week as he booted seven for 288 yards, an average of 41.1 yards per punt, with a long of 48 yards. He also had one blocked, but that was due to a missed blocking assignment. Will Tom be able to break through that 42-yard average this week?
