Cowboys DT Cam Murray Declares For NFL Draft
Early Tuesday afternoon, the Cowboys defensive line took a hit as senior defensive tackle Cameron Murray announced on Twitter that he will be entering the 2021 NFL Draft.
Murray played in seven games this season for the Cowboys, ending with 17 tackles, 4.5 for a loss, and 2 sacks. The 6’3 300 pounder finished his career with 57 tackles, 12.5 for a loss, 7 sacks, and 2 pass deflections.
Murray came to Oklahoma State in the class of 2016 out of Bryant, Arkansas, rated as a low three-star and around the 1,000 overall mark.
His decision to enter the draft was not a surprise as Pokes Report has been reporting for a weeks now that this was Murrays plan following the bowl game. His prescense will be missed on the interior defensive line, but luckily, there are some guys who have been on the depth chart that are ready to come forward into some playing time.
You can expect to see Collin Clay this year, coming off an ACL tear after transferring from Arkansas, Jayden Jernigan, a redshirt freshman, who has missed this season for medical reasons and perhaps even Aden Kelley, the All American 2021 signee.
Murray joins Kolby Harvell-Peel, Rodarius Williams, Amen Ogbongbemiga, and Calvin Bundage as the defensive Cowboys to delcare for the draft this year.
Coming back for the 2021 season though is Malcolm Rodriguez, Tre Sterling, Christian Holmes, as well as others who were expected to stay such as Tanner McCalister, Jarrick Bernard, Jason Taylor and the rest of the underclassmen.
