No. 7/9 Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy met with the media following the Cowboys’ 36-25 win over No. 14/16 Bear Bears on the road in Waco, TX.
With the win, the Cowboys move to the 4-0 overall on the season and 1-0 to start Big 12 play.
Spencer Sanders also tied Mike Gundy for wins as a starting quarterback for the Cowboys with 28 career-wins.
Sanders finished the game going 20-of-29 passing for 181 yards and one touchdown and interception apiece. He also led the Pokes in rushing with 75 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries.
This was a solid day for Spencer as he had thrown seven interceptions in the previous two games against the Bears.
As for Dominic Richardson, he finished with 24 carries for 73 yards and one touchdown. He averaged just three yards a carry but had a solid day out of the backfield as he bowled over defenders for most of the game.
On the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Xavier Benson led the way for the Pokes in tackles with 10 total tackles, six of which were solo stops. Both Jason Taylor II and Thomas Harper both recorded interceptions, Harper’s leading to a field goal and Taylor II’s sealed the win for the Pokes.
