STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s great weekend continued on Monday as there are two Cowboys named as Big 12 Player of the Week, with one player earning two honors.

Redshirt senior safety Jason Taylor II was tabbed the Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Week, with redshirt freshman Jaden Nixon being named the Big 12 Special Teams and Co-Newcomer of the Week.

We’ll start with Nixon as he earned two honors, both marking the first of his career. He finished the game with 131 all-purpose yards coming on three kick returns, with 98 yards coming on one return as he brought the opening kick of the second half back for a touchdown.

As for Taylor II, he finished the game second on the team in total tackles with nine, seven of which were solo stops. He also hauled in the game-sealing interception with less than three minutes left in the game.

The Cowboys are back at home this weekend as they play host to Texas Tech (3-2 overall, 1-1 Big 12). Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT and will televised on FS1. The athletic department will also be honoring Cowboy football legend, Bob Fenimore as he’ll be inducted into the OSU Ring of Honor during a ceremony on Saturday.
