NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State ran its unbeaten streak to eight Thursday night as the Cowgirls recorded a 1-1 tie against Bedlam-rival Oklahoma at John Crain Field.

With the result, OSU is now 9-1-3 overall and 2-0-2 in Big 12 Conference play, while the Sooners are 7-3-3 and 2-1-1 in the league.

Neither team managed a goal in the opening half, with the Cowgirls recording nine shots, four of those on frame.

OSU would break the scoring drought first off a set piece in the 55th minute. Xcaret Pineda delivered a free kick into the box that an OU defender failed to clear. Gracie Bindbeutel was there and headed a shot past Sooner keeper Olivia Ramey for her fourth goal of the season and a 1-0 lead for the Cowgirls.

The Sooners controlled the attack down the stretch, outshooting OSU by a 13-7 margin after intermission.

And OU would get the equalizer in the 72nd minute when Michelle Pak sent a low shot to the near post past a diving Jordan Nytes.

Nytes finished with seven saves, four of those in the final half.

OSU nearly got the go-ahead score with less than a minute remaining, but a long blast by Olyvia Dowell was saved on a leaping play by Ramey.

The Cowgirls return to action Thursday when they host top 10-ranked TCU at Neal Patterson Stadium in the first of four consecutive home games for OSU.
