STILLWATER – If you ever wanted some proof that a little extra work will pay off then Cowboys junior linebacker, a first-time fulltime starter Mason Cobb is just that. Earlier in the week Cobb talked about going from being a top tackler on the team to wanting to get his hands on the ball in the game with Texas Tech. Mike Gundy is always preaching to his players to watch extra tape. He challenges them to watch 30 minutes a day during the week. It will pay off he says.

I would say that our defense is a liability at this point. They played better in the 2nd half yesterday. But still have multiple issues. Experience, live reps, etc. will help. But not sure the DC is what we had last year either.

We seem very conservative about dialing up blitz packages. Perhaps statistically I'm wrong, but the same line virtually was getting to qb's more often last year seemingly. Trace Ford is the one tearing it up again. Seems Collin Oliver gets fewer opportunities. I view our run game (or lack of) the bigger liability.

I'm not worried about our defense... our offense is what still has me concerned, especially against good defensive teams like TCU, Texas and ISU.

How many points did we get off of FGs, yardage by the return teams, the onside kick short field, the interception short field.

The rest of the team is giving us every chance to score 70 in every game, but the offense only gets it done some of the time.

Losing our center in the last game certainly did not help any.
