Avery Anderson III Named to Preseason All-Big 12 Team
STILLWATER – Ahead of the start of his senior season, Oklahoma State point guard Avery Anderson III has been named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team.
Cowboy center Moussa Cisse was named an honorable mention.
Anderson III, who finished his junior season as a third team All-Big 12, is set for a solid senior season. He led the team in both scoring and three-point percentage, averaging 12.1 points on 40% shooting from the floor, 32% from three-point range, while also posting 3.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals.
He started in 30 out of 30 games and trailed only Isaac Likekele in minutes per game with 28.6. Of those 30 games, he scored double figures in 15 games.
When it came to averages in the Big 12, Anderson was fourth in the conference in steals per game with 1.77, 14th in points per game, sixth in free throw percentage at 76% per game.
As for Cisse, he has a legitimate chance of finishing the season as he did last year as the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. Cisse averaged 7.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while recording 54 blocks on the season.
He got more and more comfortable as the season went along and was a real force down low for the Pokes. Speaking with Mike Boynton, Cisse’s had an incredible summer and is stronger, more physical and confident heading into this season, which should spell success for the Pokes.
