I was listening to a local (Houston) radio talk show this morning - The Michael Berry Show - while I was working, and Michael Berry got my attention early in his show when he said something to the effect of, "One of my good friends is in Stillwater, Oklahoma this morning. He is with his son and Coach Mike Gundy (The Mullet) and getting his son started at Oklahoma State University. Yes, my friend is Bucky Richardson and his son, John Paul, is going to be a Cowboy!" It was a cool moment.
I was in the stands in 1988 when aTm came to Stillwater. It was a chilly breezy night game and we blew the Ags out 52-15. Mike Gundy & Bucky Richardson were the QB's. I don't remember much about the game except that Barry Sanders had a typical run-wild game, lots of A&M fumbles, but most memorable of all was when Bucky Richardson set up to fire a short slant over the middle and nailed the umpire in the....groin.... The umpire just dropped to his knees, and 50,000+ people all went "OOOOOOOOHHHHH!"
