Over/Under: Five Thoughts on OSU's Game Against Iowa State

STILLWATER – We’ve started a new game-week series here at Pokes Report called Over/Under. It’ll be five topics with an over/under associated to them. You’ll then drop your predictions in the comments below on how you think they’ll turn out.

Oklahoma State is looking to snap a two-game losing streak as they host Iowa State this weekend. The Pokes are coming off a 37-16 loss to Kansas, while the Cyclones are fresh off a 31-14 win over West Virginia.

The first Over/Under will be Oklahoma State offensive scoring: Over/Under three touchdowns

The Cowboys have struggled to put points on the board the past few weeks, having combined for just 16 points in two games. However, the Cowboys were explosive in the four Big 12 games prior, having combined for 158 points against Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU and Texas. Based on the struggles, I’ve set the Over/Under at three. Can the Cowboys get into the end on Saturday?

Langston Anderson: Over/Under five catches

The redshirt junior out of Midlothian (TX) Heritage has been on campus since 2019 and has been injured a majority of his time on campus. He’s been healthy the past few weeks and recorded his best game against KU this past week, three catches for 61 yards. Can he improve upon those numbers and record at least five against Iowa State?

OSU defense: ISU 4.0 YPC

On the season, the Cyclones are averaging 3.4 yards per carry, having rushed for 950 total yards. They rushed for 172 yards on 38 carries against the Mountaineers on Saturday. The Pokes have struggled to stop the run the past few weeks, having given up 550 yards on the ground. However, the Cyclones don’t have a Deuce Vaughn or Devin Neal. So, can the Pokes hold ISU to 4.0 YPC.

OSU defense: Over/Under three tackles for loss

The Cowboys have dealt with quite a few injuries the past few weeks, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The D-line had a lot of success early in Big 12 play, but have recorded just five tackles for loss in the past two games, with four coming against KU. Can the Cowboys record at least three TFL against the Cyclones?

Tanner Brown: Over/Under two FGs

Tanner Brown has been rock solid for the Pokes. In eight games this season, Brown is 15 of 16 on field goal attempts, with a long of 52-yards. He’s also made five from at least 40-yards, with nine of the 15 coming from at least 34-yards. Brown is currently scoring 10.1 points per game, which is good for No. 8 in the FBS among all players. Can Brown hit at least two FGs on Saturday?
