STILLWATER – Oklahoma State redshirt freshman safety Kendal Daniels has picked up his first Big 12 weekly honor following his performance against Iowa State.
This marks the Cowboys’ 10th Big 12 PotW honor this season.
Daniels was a key piece to the Cowboys’ success on Saturday against the Cyclones. He recorded a first quarter forced fumble, which was also a two-yard loss. He also recorded his third interception of the season, a 12-yard return in the third quarter.
By the end of the game, Daniels recorded a team-high 10 total tackles, four of which were solo stops, and 1.5 tackles for loss.
According to Oklahoma State Athletics Media Relations, Daniels “now leads all Big 12 freshmen in interceptions, tackles, solo tackles, tackles for loss and passes defended. He also ranks in the top 10 among all FBS freshmen in each of those categories, including a No. 1 ranking in interceptions and a No. 3 ranking in solo tackles.”
Daniels will have the chance to improve upon his stats this coming Saturday as the Cowboys travel to Norman for a 6:30 p.m. CT kick on ABC.
