STILLWATER – The late reveal of the latest College Football Playoff Rankings was surprisingly positive for the Oklahoma State Cowboys as the CFP Selection Committee placed the Pokes No. 22, two spots higher than the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls did on Sunday. The committee with it’s former coaches on the panel surely recognized how the Cowboys have rebounded and have toughed out a difficult situation with a monster rash of injuries they have dealt with this season. Oklahoma State is 7-3 and will play rival Oklahoma in the Bedlam series on Saturday in Norman at 6:30 on a game nationally televised on ABC.

There were really no surprises in the top teams in the CFP Rankings as Georgia (10-0) stayed No. 1 after another win on Saturday. Ohio State (10-0) blew out Indiana and the Buckeyes with former OSU defensive coordinator now coaching the defense in Columbis was ranked No. 2. Big Ten rival Michigan (10-0) was ranked No. 3 as the showdown looms a week from Saturday between those two teams in Columbis, Ohio.

Big 12 leader TCU (10-0) clinched a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game with a 17-10 win in Austin over Texas and the Horned Frogs stayed No. 4 in the rankings.

Tennessee (9-1) is looming in fifth, LSU (8-2) is sixth, and USC (9-1) is in seventh. Alabama (8-2) is No. 8, with Clemson (9-1) at No. 9 and Utah (8-2) is No. 10.

Kansas State out of the Big 12 is No. 15. TCU, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State are the only ranked teams from the Big 12 Conference.
