Bedlam Close to Kickoff: Oklahoma State Injury Report Includes Richardson and Brooks
NORMAN, Okla. – Kickoff for the Bedlam rivalry is under two hours away and courtesy of Cowboys Sports Network from Learfield we find out that Oklahoma State while having star quarterback Spencer Sanders ready and starting for the game between the No. 22-Cowboys and unranked Sooners there are other OSU players that will miss the game tonight.
The most updated information is that Sanders plays, and the Cowboys also have receivers Braydon Johnson and Jaden Bray readily available. Also, center Preston Wilson is back and that is key for the Oklahoma State offensive line. By the way Sanders after getting most of two weeks off between the loss to Kansas State and his entry into the Iowa State game last Saturday to help rally the Cowboys to a 20-14 victory.
Missing the game will be offensive lineman Jason Brooks, who has been starting at guard recently. Joe Michalski moves from center to guard with Wilson back at center. Also, the receivers coming back helps as freshman receiver Stephon Johnson Jr. had an ankle injury in practice this week that likely keeps him out of the game.
Running back Dominic Richardson is most likely not going to play as his nagging injuries have added up. That leaves Jaden Nixon, freshman Ollie Gordon, and Deondre Jackson to man the backfield.
Continuing injuries include defensive end Tyler Lacy (ankle), safety Thomas Harper (shoulder), receiver Talyn Shettron (hamstring), and offensive guard Hunter Woodard (head) out. Season ending injuries this fall include defensive end Trace Ford (knee), defensive tackle Brendon Evers (shoulder), linebacker Constantino Borelli (shoulder), punter Tom Hutton (knee), and safety Kanion Williams (shoulder).
Gone since the start of the season or from injuries in fall camp include guard Cole Birmingham (knee), safety DeSean Buckner (knee), offensive tackle Logan Nobles (back), cowboy back Blaine Green (wrist), linebacker Jeff Roberson (foot), and safety Nick Session (shoulder).
