Over/Under: Five Thoughts on OSU's Regular Season Finale Against West Virginia

STILLWATER – We’ve started a new game-week series here at Pokes Report called Over/Under. It’ll be five topics with an over/under associated to them. You’ll then drop your predictions in the comments below on how you think they’ll turn out.

November has not been kind to the Cowboys as they’ve got 1-2 and will be looking to bounce back from the 28-13 loss to OU this past weekend as the West Virginia Mountaineers makes their way to Stillwater. The Cowboys will be looking to finish the regular season with an 8-4 record, while the Mountaineers are coming off 48-31 loss to K-State this past weekend to go to 4-7 on the season and 2-6 in Big 12 play.

Our first Over/Under will be OSU offensive yardage: Over/Under 300 yards

Despite the strong start the season and Big 12 play, the Cowboys have really struggled to move the ball in the past month. The offensive line is banged up and struggling the hold blocks, while starting running back Dominic Richardson has been dealing with some injury issues as well. Not to mention starting quarterback Spencer Sanders has been dealing with a shoulder injury since the middle of the season, which sidelined him for most of November. The Mountaineers are giving up an average of 417.16 total yards per game. So, can the Cowboys figure out a way to move the ball on Saturday?

OSU passing touchdowns: Over/Under two

Going back to the Kansas game to start November, the Cowboys have scored no more than two passing touchdowns in the month. Garret Rangel recorded two against the Jayhawks, Gunnar Gundy and Spencer Sanders recorded two against Iowa State and Sanders had one against OU. WVU has allowed 22 passing touchdowns on the season. Can the Cowboys find a way to clear the Nov. magic number of two?

OSU defensive yardage: Over/Under 400 yards

Despite the record, West Virginia has been able to move the ball this season as the Mountaineer offense is averaging 405.5 yards of total offense a game. The Cowboys played a really strong second half against Iowa State and an incredible final three quarters against OU last week. Can the Cowboys hold WVU to just under the season average?

OSU defensive turnovers: Over/Under two

The Cowboy defense has been a turnover machine the past few weeks as they’ve combined for six total turnovers, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. The Mountaineers have 11 interceptions on the year and have lost six fumbles. Can the Cowboys force at least two turnovers?

Logan Ward punting: Over/Under 44 yards per punt

Logan Ward took over the punting duties following Tom Hutton’s season-ending injury against Kansas State and has done very well. He’s currently averaging 46.05 yards per punt on 21 punts since taking over. Can the redshirt freshman out of Edmond, OK, continue his strong debut?
