Ollie Gordon Hints at Return for 2023 Season
STILLWATER – It looks as if Oklahoma State will have its star freshman running back return for the 2023 season.
Ollie Gordon took to Twitter Thursday morning and tweeted: “Assuming doesn’t look good on y’all if you didn’t hear it from me don’t believe it. #ALLIN”
This is big news for the Cowboys as running back Dominic Richardson entered the portal Monday evening and the news of true freshman running back CJ Brown no longer with the program.
Gordon showed flashes at times this season and had his breakout performance in the final game of the season. He posted a very good stat line of 17 carries for 136 yards and one touchdown, with most of those yards coming in the second half, along with one catch for 10 yards.
The four-star running back out of Euless Trinity played in 12 games this season and posted 263 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 50 carries, while hauling in 11 receptions for 75 yards and one touchdown.
The way he ran down the stretch of the season, along with the news from Mike Gundy on signing day last year that the strength and conditioning staff is working to get Gordon up to 230 pounds, Gordon projected to be the starter in the 2023 season.
Along with redshirt freshman Kendal Daniels and sophomore Collin Oliver announcing their return on Monday, the youth in Stillwater have given the fans a lot of hope the past few days.
