Oklahoma State Offers Arizona Transfer Defensive Tackle
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s presence in the portal continues to be high as the coaching staff is looking to add depth and talent at several positions. One of the latest offers to go out is to defensive tackle transfer, Paris Shand.
Shand, a transfer from Arizona, checks in at 6-5, 290-pounds and just completed his sophomore season with the Wildcats. OSU is the most recent transfer offer Shand has put on Twitter, but he’s also received offers from LSU, Ole Miss, Rutgers and Texas Tech.
Originally out of The Loomis Chaffee School in Toronto, Ontario, Shand had a very solid sophomore season this past year as he played in nine games, starting in seven, and recorded 23 total tackles, including 12 solo stops, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
He played in 11 of the 12 games Arizona played in 2021, which included three starts and recorded 16 total tackles, two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and two quarterback hurries.
The Arizona website lists Shand as a sophomore in 2022, but he played in just four games as a freshman in 2020. So, it’s possible he still has his redshirt and COVID year.
The Cowboys have currently brought in three D1 transfers since the portal officially opened on Dec. 5: Tulsa LB Justin Wright, Western Michigan RB Sean Tyler and Washington State WR De’Zhaun Stribling. They also landed Jones College DB Lardarius Webb Jr.
