Mason Cobb Transfers Back West to USC

STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State linebacker Mason Cobb has found a landing spot. Cobb, who announced he was entering the portal shortly after the end of the regular season, took to Twitter Monday evening to announce he’s transferring to USC.

Cobb came to Stillwater from Provo, UT, so he’s headed back out West.

This past season, Cobb was a menace for the Pokes as he led the defense in tackles with 96 stops. He also had 13 tackles for loss, two sacks, 11 quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and an interception.

Following the season, Cobb was tabbed a second-team All-Big 12 selection by the league’s coaches. 

Cobb finished his Oklahoma State career with 109 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss and three sacks.

Oklahoma State was able to get Cobb’s scholarship back, which was immediately put to use as they landed a commitment from Tulsa transfer linebacker, Justin Wright.

Wright was a four-year starter for the Golden Hurricane, including picking up two first-team All-AAC honors.

“Oklahoma State is a fit,” Wright told Pokes Report. “All my conversations with the coaches including Coach (Mike) Gundy have been so easy. The coaches are really down to earth. I can tell with Coach Gundy. He has been humble and to the point in our conversations. He told me they want tough guys.

“I’m thinking I will definitely be one of those tough guys that he wants,” Wright punctuated his quote.

This past season, Wright recorded an impressive 101 total tackles, including 56 solo stops, 10.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble, five quarterback hurries, three pass break ups and two interceptions.
