STILLWATER – It was an easy day at the office for Oklahoma State as they rolled to an 81-58 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the final non-conference game of the 2022 portion of the season.

With the win, the Cowboys move to 8-4 on the season.

The Cowboys had several players in double figures Tuesday afternoon, but it was Bryce Thompson who led the way in scoring on the day. Thompson finished with 13 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field, all of which came from beyond the 3-point line, as well as 1-of-2 from the free throw line. He also had six assists and four rebounds, as well as two steals.

Big man Moussa Cisse had an impressive game as he finished with another double-double, his fifth of the season, with 12 points and 14 rebounds. He also had one block and steal to boot.

Tyreek Smith also had 12 points on a perfect 4-of-4 from both the field and free throw line, with Avery Anderson III finishing with 10 points on 3-of-7 shooting and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. He was one assists shy of a double-double. He also finished with five rebounds, two steals and block, but did, however, have five turnovers.

The Cowboys were great on the defensive end as they held Corpus Christie to 32% shooting, just 27% from 3-point range and outrebounded them 41-29.

It was a fairly similar split between the two halves for the Pokes as they scored 44 points in the first half on nearly 58% shooting from the floor and nearly 53% shooting from 3-point range. Turnovers were a bit of an issue as they recorded 10 in the first half, but they were able to limit the damage as C.C. scored just four points off those turnovers.

The Cowboys did, however, limit their turnovers in the second half to just six, while scoring 22 of their 32 points in the paint.

The Cowboys start conference play on the road in Lawrence for a New Year’s Eve showdown with No. 4 Kansas. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT and will be televised on CBS.
