STILLWATER – It’s been a bit of a whirlwind December for Oklahoma State football. The transfer portal, both in and out of the program, the early signing period, which saw a flurry of players added in the last few days leading up to signing day, which was completed just a few hours ahead of the Pokes jumping on a plane and flying out to Arizona for the Guaranteed Rate Bowl against Wisconsin. Kickoff is going to be a late one, with the game starting at 9:15 p.m. CT on ESPN.
The transfer portal out of the program has certainly caused the Pokes’ depth chart to have a different look to it for the game.

While there’s no question the transfer portal has impacted this team and the depth chart, this game will give everyone the first real look into the future of the program.
The freshman trio of quarterback Garret Rangel, running back Ollie Gordon and wide receiver Stephon Johnson will have a chance to make a big impact.
Rangel finished his freshman regular season playing in three games as he finished going 45-of-84 for 482 yards and two touchdowns, both of those coming against the Kansas Jayhawks.
As for Gordon, he saw action in all 12 games for the Pokes and fininshed the regular season with 50 carries for 263 yards and two touchdowns, as well as 11 receptions for 75 yards and one touchdown. His breakout game came against West Virginia as he rushed for 136 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries.
Johnson played in nine games for the Pokes and recorded 16 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown, with his best performance coming against Texas as he had six catches for 90 yards and one touchdown.
Redshirt senior Lamont Bishop is getting the nod at linebacker with former Cowboy Mason Cobb on his way out to USC and redshirt freshman Cam Smith is getting the nod in place of corner Jabbar Muhammad, who signed with Washington. It also looks like Sean Michael Flanagan is getting the nod in place of former Cowboy, Thomas Harper.
