I thought we already got him committed. This changes things, he is a west coast kid. Hopefully we land him. We need all WRs we can get. Offers wise we are his best offer and it's not even close. If we lose him, it's because he wants to stay in west or our NIL is not great.

Go look at the depth chart we had an insane amount of riches at wide receiver! Even with the three entering the portal you have Pressley, Blaine Greene, Owens, Bray, Tayln Shettron, Tabry Shettron, Cale Cabbiness, with Deshawn Stribling and Camron Herd coming in, plus another one or two that they may bring in!

Your comment is hopeful, sure, but I don't normally add true freshmen in contributor list. They might see the field because of injuries, I don't think we have some stud this year, who will 100% play.

Bray, Presley, Shettron, Stripling are good set of guys.

Cabbiness, Blaine, Tabry, Ownes are kind of unproven still. And we still dont know if Blaine, Owens and Tabry will play WR or stick with CWB.

But we still need 2-3 WRs from portal.

Robert,
Do you think we will end up landing him?

Also Zach, Robert - where are we at with getting a portal qb? I feel like that is a must accomplish this week

Stephon Johnson, Jaydon Bray, Blaine Greene, JP Richardson ALL contributed as freshman! Cabbiness saved the Boise State win in 2021! They need maybe two more from the portal, mostly slot guys like Brennan! Cowboy back as it exists is probably history in the way it has been used! They are moving to inline tightends and the CB will basically be a blocking fullback! Also with the inline tightend look for them to go with more gap scheme blocking that you saw from 2005 to 2012 and move away from the zone scheme that Yurcich favored when he was OC!

They contributed more out of necessity (Injuries to Bray, Braydon, Blaine, Owens) than because of talent. They all did freshmen mistakes too, not able to get separation, not clear route running, drops etc. Same for Cabbinness, that was his only catch in the season of 2021.

I am definitely more interested in seeing inline tight end move and how it helps our WRs

you seem to be confusing talent with experience.

yes and no. Getting separation and high pointing the ball both can be attributed to talent (Speed, crisp route running) and experience. Drops can be stopped with more experience. (Except for Braydon Johnson apparently)

just commenting on your claim that the only reason they played was due to necessity, not talent.

They would not been on the team is they did not have some talent, albeit, not fully developed talent (experience)

Separation can also be from understanding defensive formations (running to the open), and from effective "hand fighting", which come from experience.

High pointing can also come from experience (repetition), although some do have that natural ability.

Those kids we have returning did gain some experience, what they do with that is what we're all anxiously waiting to see.

There is a reason you are not a college football coach!
