Oklahoma State Lands 2024 Southeast Running Back Rodney Fields

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State just landed its second commitment of the 2024 class with talented in-state running back, Rodney Fields.

This commitment comes just three days after Fields received the offer from OSU running backs coach, John Wozniak, following an unofficial visit to Stillwater earlier this week.

Fields joins Stillwater tight end Josh Ford, who committed to the Pokes back on January 17.

Fields checks in at 5-9, 187 pounds and is coming off an impressive junior season at Oklahoma City Southeast HS. He led the Spartans on the ground as he rushed for 1,147 yards on just 107 carries, an average of 10.7 yards per carry, with 17 touchdowns. He was also versatile out of the backfield in the receiving game as he had 23 receptions for 480 yards and five touchdowns.

He also one of the Spartans’ leading tacklers as a junior as he played middle linebacker. On the season, Fields recorded 59 total tackles, 25 of which were solo stops, including 12.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks. He also recorded one interception, one fumble recovery and one blocked punt.

Following his season, he was tabbed a second team selection of The Oklahomans Big All-City team.

Boy's got some jets for sure when he taps burners. Looks like a natural. I see a little bit of "Spud" in him. Good to see the local players coming to Stillwater. Welcome aboard Cowboy!

My excitement about this is tempered by the competition he has played against. Hope it works out.

He recently ran a timed 40 yard dash a couple of weeks ago and registered a 4.45! I don't know if it was a hand held or electronic timed but still that is hauling arse wouldn't you say CC!!!

This guy is good. Will be awesome with his catching ability. But let's keep pushing for Xavier Robinson. He looks and feels like next Derrick Henry. Can't let him slip to Goons.

I think we've got all we can out of Dunn. And I would hate for all these awesome commits and transfers to go into a stagnant offense because the coordinator can't get creative, and adapt quickly in games.

We won the regular season Big XII last year. This year, our offense beat everyone except TCU including Texas thru 7 games if I recall. By then the team had an unprecedented number of injuries including a wounded qb and an offensive line mess. Why do some fans think Dunn forgot how to win in the last third of the '22 schedule? And have we ever had a much better recruiting OC?
