Oklahoma State Lands Commitment From 2023 Athlete Sesi Vailahi
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State just landed another commitment in the 2023 class with running back, Sesi Vailahi.
Vailahi is currently in Stillwater on his official visit. He chose the Pokes over offers from BYU and Nevada among others. Both Texas A&M and USC made late pushes to try and land Vailahi before the February signing period, which is set to begin next Wednesday, Feb. 1.
There’s also a Cowboy connection with Vailahi as he played for the same high school coach as former Oklahoma State standout, Jaylen Warren, who’s currently playing in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Vailahi checks in at 5-11, 190 pounds and is out of Salt Lake City (UT) West, where he posted an impressive 1,072 total yards as a senior, 32 carries for 240 yards with five touchdowns and 24 receptions for 607 yards and seven touchdowns.
He’s an incredibly versatile athlete as he also posted 48 total tackles this past season as a hybrid linebacker/safety, including 4.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, 11 pass break deflections, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and one interception.
For his career, Vailahi finished with 81 receptions for 1,588 yards and 19 touchdowns and 153 carries for 1,065 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground.
Following the season, he earned All-District and All-City honors.
Vailahi currently marks the 19th overall HS commitment in the 2023 class for the Pokes, joining QB Zane Flores, WRs Camron Heard, Jalen Pope and Tykie Andrews and OLmen Isaiah Kema, JaKobe Sanders, Gage Standland and Jack Endean on the offensive side of the ball.
The offensive transfers joining the Pokes for the upcoming season, who are already on campus, are WR/RB Arland Bryce IV (Iowa), RB Elijah Collins (Michigan State), WR De’Zhaun Stribling (Washington State), Leon Johnson III (George Fox), TE Josiah Johnson (UMass), TE Ian Edenfield (Cal Uni of PA.), OL Dalton Cooper (Texas State), OL Noah McKinney (UNLV).
