Oklahoma State Cowgirls Do It Again Beating West Virginia and Climbing the Standings

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team won its third consecutive contest on Tuesday evening, knocking off West Virginia, 76-65, in front of 2,036 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Behind a pair of double-double performances, the Cowgirls improved to 17-7 overall and 7-5.

Taylen Collins made all five of her shots and finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Terryn Milton scored 15 points and pulled 10 boards of her own.

OSU opened with the first seven points of the contest before the Mountaineers reeled off the game's next eight points. The Cowgirls would answer with a 9-0 run to lead, 16-8, with three minutes left in the first.

The Cowgirls would take a 23-15 lead into the second period.

OSU maintained its lead throughout the second, but WVU stayed within reach, hitting a trey with 90 seconds left in the frame to cut the margin to 37-34 before the Cowgirls would take a 39-34 lead into the break.

Three minutes into the third, the Mountaineers tied the score at 43 apiece before Collins quickly put the Cowgirls back in front on OSU's next possession. She would convert a 3-point play and Kassidy De Lapp added a layup to stretch the lead to 50-44 halfway through the period.

OSU stretched the lead to nine with less than a minute to go before ultimately taking a 61-54 lead into the final 10 minutes.

Naomie Alantas pushed the margin to double figures at 65-54 before De Lapp added a pair of baskets to extend the margin to 15. Collins gave OSU its largest lead at 16 on a layup with 52 seconds left.

Alnatas finished with a team-high 16 points, while De Lapp added 12 and Anna Gret Asi finished with 10.
