Oklahoma State Offers Pair of Talented 2024 Running Backs

STILLWATER –With the 2023 class in the books, it’s time for John Wozniak and Kasey Dunn to shift focus to 2024. That starts with a pair of offers the past few days.

The first is out of Lufkin (TX) HS, Kedren Young, the same high school as former OSU standout, Dez Bryant.

Young checks in at 5-10, 220 pounds and currently holds at least 15 offers, including Arizona, Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Notre Dame, Purdue, Texas Tech, Tulane and UTSA among others.

He’s currently not ranked in the ’24 class, but I don’t think it’ll be the case for much longer. This past season as a junior, Young rushed for 1,751 yards and 19 touchdowns on 237 carries.

The next is three-star back out of Waco (TX) Connally, Kiefer Sibley, the same high school as current OSU corner Korie Black and his younger brother, Kobe Black, who’s also in the 2024 class.

Sibley checks in at 5-8, 185 pounds and currently holds offers from Abilene Christian, Nebraska and Oklahoma State and Texas State, but is receiving attention from Baylor, Oregon State and TCU.

This past season as a junior, Sibley put up insane numbers in 12 games for the Cadets. He rushed for 2,291 yards and 29 touchdowns on just 186 carries, more than 12 yards a carry and 190.9 yards per game. He also had six receptions for 102 yards and touchdown and went 1-of-2 passing for 55 yards and a touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 31 total tackles, 13 of which were solo stops, and 6.0 tackles for loss. He also recorded seven pass break ups and one forced fumble. Seven pass break ups as a 5-8 running back is insane.

It’s certainly going to be an interesting class in terms of running back as the Pokes are set to lose just one back from this year’s roster, Michigan State transfer Elijah Collins. They return sophomore and redshirt sophomore Ollie Gordon and Jaden Nixon and redshirt junior Deondre Jackson.

While they didn’t sign a “traditional” high school running back during the December, they did bring in Houston (TX) Furr ATH Camron Heard, who played quarterback, running back and receiver, as well as Sesi Vailahi, a running back out of Salt Lake City (UT) West during the February signing period.

They also signed Arland Bruce IV, a sophomore transfer out of Iowa, who’s a slot receiver that can also operate out of the backfield.
