Oklahoma State Lands Commitment From 2024 Choctaw Edge/LB Will Smith
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football just landed its fourth commitment in the 2024 cycle, and third in-state commitment so far in Choctaw (OK) HS edge/linebacker, Will Smith.
Smith took to Twitter to make the announcement.
He chose the Pokes over offers from Akron, Iowa State and Texas State
Smith checks in at 6-4, 235-pounds and was a catalyst on both sides of the ball for the Yellowjackets this past season. As a junior, he recorded 34 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, seven sacks and 11 quarterback hurries. He also forced four fumbles and recovered two as well.
On the offensive side of the ball, Smith hauled in 21 catches for 445 yards and four touchdowns.
“When you watch him on video the first attribute that pops out is Smith’s speed for his size. Whether he is coming off the edge or sitting back and picks an interior path to attack the opposing backfield he is very fast getting there. His balance is also impressive as he is almost impossible to get off of his feet. Meanwhile, his power is excellent in putting ballcarriers on the ground.”
As mentioned, Smith is the fourth overall commitment in the 2024 class for the Pokes, the second on the defensive side of the ball. He joins Longview (TX) HS cornerback Willie Nelson, who committed last week, Oklahoma City (OK) Southeast running back Rodney Fields and Stillwater (OK) HS TE Josh Ford.
