Oklahoma State Football Recruiting

Oak Ridge Monster Defensive End Joseph Jonah-Ajonye Offered

STILLWATER – Add another to the big bunch of offers that Oklahoma State football put out on Friday  as Joseph Jonah-Ajonye of Conroe (Oak Ridge), Texas was offered.

Dave Campbell's Texas Football
Joseph Jonah-Ajonye of Oak Rdige High School

The 6-4 ½ and 260-pound defensive end with all kinds of potential was first-team All-District 13-6A this past season and we had him with 20 total tackles and seven tackles-for-loss with four sacks. He is a beast of a player just to try and square up and block. He is also very adaptable as Oak Ridge was able to use him everywhere from the three technique to wide edge nine. He proved to be strong enough to work the inside and quick enough to come off the edge and both hold that edge and pursue to make the play.

Oklahoma State offered on Feb. 17, 2023, but the offers have come in for a while. He has over 25 scholarship opportunities with Arizona State, Auburn, Baylor, Florida State, Houston, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, and Utah all among those along with the Cowboys.

Our count with a few offers we are aware of that will come out later this weekend has Oklahoma State now up to 87 prospects offered for the 2024 class.

can we really expect to outbid all of those teams for players like this?

LOL - yeah, but that is the problem, how much are you offering, and what NIL deals do you have to pitch?

I know that he was a "star" player for us at the QB position and maybe the face of the team, but if Sanders was indeed bringing in around $400k last year while he was here (typing that is truly RIDICULOUS), then there are deals to be made with star players and SS can and should be referenced. Come here, bust your ass, ball out and make big $$$$$$!

sounds like you're saying, if $400k buys you a Sanders level QB that couldn't get picked up in the portal, then we're going to need a giant boat load of money to attract a team full of really good players.

RIDICULOUS is the key word..... I don't believe that OSU has ridiculous type of money to dole out to buy a good team (remember these statements are in reference to bidding against those teams highlighted earlier in this thread, and other great teams that were not bidding on these players)
