Oklahoma State Extends Several Offers, Beware as There Are Some Imposters

PUBLISHER’S NOTE: I know the headline on this story raised some speculation but I should have ignored it. I wasn’t criticizing anybody per se. There is a lot of misinformation out there with soecial media. Not every Twitter message citing a scholarship offer is actually true. There have been a number in the recent weeks that weren’t true. We will strive to check all reports out and be accurate. If we can’t confirm then we won’t report an offer.

I'm not sure if there's some info missing from the article as I was covering hoops tonight, but there's been a handful of reported offers over the past few weeks that have been from either fake Twitter accounts or kids just tweeting out offers from OSU that haven't actually be extended. Whether they're doing it in order to gain traction from other schools or just to have fun, but people need to be aware it's happening. We'll be doing our due-diligence on the offers being reported on Twitter in order to weed those out in our reports.
