Brandon Garrison Tabbed 2022-23 Gatorade Oklahoma Basketball Player of the Year
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State 2023 signee Brandon Garrison’s postseason awards continue to roll in as he was named the 2022-23 Gatorade Oklahoma Basketball Player of the Year, which was announced on Wednesday.
This award comes just a few days after Garrison led Del City to the Oklahoma Class 5A state title on Saturday.
Garrison, who was also tabbed a McDonald’s All-American, is coming off a stellar senior season. The 6-9, 205-pound forward averaged a double-double for the Eagles as he posted 16.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. He also averaged 3.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.7 blocks per game.
The McDonald’s All-American also helped USA Basketball win a gold medal in the U18 2022 FIBA Americas Championship this past summer, in which he averaged six points on 81% shooting from the field and 4.3 boards per game.
Bryce Thompson is the most recent McDonald’s All-American to sign with Mike Boynton and the Cowboys, but as a transfer. He joined former five-star and first overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft, Cade Cunningham.
Garrison checks in as the No. 30 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the ESPN Top-100 rankings.
