STILLWATER – Mike Boynton and Co. will be looking for a new point guard in the transfer portal as Avery Anderson III has entered his name into the transfer portal.

Anderson III will be a graduate transfer.

During his four-year career in Stillwater, Anderson played in 109 games, which include the 22 he played this past season before suffering what turned out to be a season-ending injury. During those 22 games, Anderson was second on the team in scoring with 11.1 points per game on 40% shooting from the field. He also recorded 32 steals and lead the team with 3.4 assists per game.

During his career at Oklahoma State, Anderson averaged 9.7 points per game on 41.5% shooting from the field. He also recorded 152 career steals and averaged 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

It was announced earlier on Tuesday John-Michael Wright would be returning for an additional year next season.

I don't blame him, he wants to play on a tournament team, and he won't get that here.

Yes, I hope he finds a place that gives him a chance at a long tourney run, and a chance to improve to the level he gets an NBA shot.
