Oklahoma State Makes List of Schools for North Texas Transfer Tylor Perry
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is still in the mix for North Texas standout transfer guard, Tylor Perry.
Mike Boynton and Co. reached out to the Oklahoma native following his entrance into the transfer portal back in early April.
The 2022-23 Conference USA Player of the Year was electric this year averaging 17.3 points per game, while also combining for 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals a game en route to a program best 31 wins for the Mean Green. He also shot 41% from 3-point range. He was one of the main catalysts in knocking the Cowboys out of the NIT in the quarterfinals in Stillwater as he dropped 23 points, six rebounds and four assists.
UNT would go on to win the 2023 NIT with a 68-61 win over UAB.
This is certainly a list of very good programs and it’s going to be a very interesting recruiting battle for each of them. Perry’s former coach at UNT, Grant McCasland, is now the head coach at Texas Tech, so it seems as if the Red Raiders would have a leg up on the competition.
With the departure of Caleb Asberry to graduation and Avery Anderson III to the transfer portal, Boynton and Co. are in need of talented guards. They’re also hosting East Carolina transfer guard Javon Small this weekend, as well as going after Santa Clara transfer Carlos Stewart.
