STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is looking to add its first commitment in the 2024 class and Mike Boynton has turned his sights to a suburb of Fort Worth and Kuol Atak.

Atak is a 6-9, 185-pound forward out of Haltom HS in Haltom City, TX, just to the northeast of Fort Worth. He’s considered a four-star prospect by both On3 and Rivals, with On3 ranking him the No. 103 overall prospect in the country, the No. 20 overall power forward and the No. 5 overall prospect out of the Lone Star State.

This past season as a junior, Atak was spectacular as he averaged 22.5 points per game on 45% shooting from the floor. He also recorded 5.1 rebounds per game as well. He wasn’t as effective with offensive rebounds as he was on the defensive end of the court as he recorded just 26 offensive boards to 126 on the defensive end.

He also finished the season with 47 blocks.

If you scroll through the videos on his Hudl account, which you can access through the video posted above, you can see that Atak can score from just about anywhere from the 3-point line to basket. He’s got solid court awareness and vision and his long and lanky frame allows him to bring in passes others would probably miss on.

As with most high school players, he’ll need to get bigger and stronger once he gets to whichever program he commits and signs to, but certainly shows a lot of potential.
