STILLWATER – Just like the offensive coaches that we reported on earlier this week in Part 1 of our Spring Evaluation Recruiting update. This has to be a fun time for new defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo as he hits the road and gets back to recruiting in this part of the country. I’m sure Nardo will thrive in going down into Texas. He has a great personality and loves talking to players and coaches and that will equate to success. Now, you do have to factor in the NIL influence.

I think the quicker our staff gets on board with NIL, the better. It's not going anywhere and our staff needs to embrace it or we'll get left behind. IMO we need to look at each roster as being on a one-year contract with the portal now. Not easy to manage but it is what it is.

I thought that the rules specify that the coaching staff cannot be involved with NIL

Kobe Black put a top 11 list recently, OSU is not one of them. If we are not in 11, I doubt we get him. Him, Josesh Jonah-Ajonye and Danny Okoye are in my wish list. They are all close to OSU and even attended last years down and dirty camp too. But I doubt we even get 1.

What the rules say and what's happening are likely two different things. I not saying it's right; I'm saying it's reality. Programs like Texas Tech are picking up steam because of NIL. We need to keep up.

it is highly UNlikely that TTech's coaches are breaking the rules regarding NIL.

The TT collectives can offer anything that they want (within some reason, e.g., it's not supposed to be strictly pay for play, or target recruiting), however, the "program" (i.e., coaches/administration) cannot be involved.

what the rules say, is likely what is happening, but by and large, the rules are very vague, except where it says that the coaches cannot be involved.

If you have evidence of that, then please post it.
