Oklahoma State Cowgirl Basketball Welcomes Transfer Ale'jah Douglas

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has added another veteran presence to its backcourt with Ale'jah Douglas joining the program it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.

"Ale'jah brings a fiery competitive spirit that we are excited to coach. She is small in frame, but mighty in heart," Hoyt said. "She gives us much needed depth at the point guard position and I love her tenacity on both ends of the floor."

A native of Omaha, Neb., Douglas comes to Stillwater after spending last season at Clemson where she saw action in 33 games and made four starts. She averaged 5.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game for the Tigers and also dished out 39 assists to go with 34 steals.

Douglas had four double-figure scoring games on the year and poured in 13 points against Arkansas in her first career start.

Prior to her stint at Clemson, the 5-6 guard enjoyed a decorated career at Western Nebraska Community College where she achieved NJCAA first-team All-America status. Douglas was also named a first-team All-American by World Exposure Report as well as its NJCAA Sophomore of the Year.

Douglas was named to the Region IX South All-Region Team and a first-team All-Metro selection after averaging 17.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. She shot 47 percent from the floor in the process.

After leading WNCC to a third-place showing at the national tournament, she was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament squad after scoring 68 points over the team's four-game run.

Douglas also finished her career with 1,015 points, making her just the fourth player in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
