Oklahoma State Offers 2025 QB Prospect Adam Schobel of Columbus, Texas

STILLWATER – I had a caller text my radio show concerned about 2024 quarterback prospect Isaac Wilson pledging on Wednesday to the University of Utah. Will the Cowboys get a 2024 quarterback in their class. They have several options including Mealiuaki Smith from Serra High School in California. However, talking to the Cowboys recruiting staff we know that with a strong quarterback room that includes Garret Rangel, Gunnar Gundy, and Zane Flores for the future that they won’t just take a guy. If they don’t get who they want they will go for a strong prospect in 2025 and this might be where Adam Schobel fits in.

Oklahoma State offered the 6-4, 190-pound quarterback from Columbus, Texas that has offers from Baylor, Houston, Sam Houston State, and UTSA as well. Schobel is a track guy with the 200-meters but he is a dropback quarterback that can really throw it and throw it accurately.

Columbus, Tex. High School
Schobel on the sidelines last season.

Last season he completed over 72 percent of his passes for over 2,800-yards with 36 touchdowns and just four interceptions. That’s a TD-int ratio of 9-to-1 on the plus side! In the 2021 season as a freshman he was the District 12-3A-I Newcomer of the Year on offense throwing for 2,440-yards with 28 touchdowns and again, just four interceptions. That’s a 7-to-1 ration to the good!

On top of that, Schobel has good blood lines as you might remember his dad, Matt, who played tight end for TCU and then did seven seasons in the NFL with Cincinnati (2002-05) and Philadelphia (2006-08)

It will be interesting if Tim Rattay, who evaluates and recruits the quarterbacks with the help of recruiting and operations assistant Eddie Simpkins, will be able to get Schobel to attend The Show (Gun Show) coming up at Boone Pickens Stadium in June.
