Nickens Announces Commitment Date
STILLWATER – Jaden Nickens, the standout wide receiver from Millwood in the class of 2025 isn’t much for phone conversations. I have spoke with him briefly when he has been at Oklahoma State, whcih has been for multiple practices. He has also been to at least one game in Stillwater. When he posted that he is going to make his college commitment on Aug. 12, I thought I’d call him and find out why so early and for sure, find out which schools he is deciding between.
Nickens didn’t answer, but he almost immediately text back, asking “Who dis?”
I explained who I was and why I was calling and he gave me a simple answer. He is deciding between his top eight.
An interesting eight with Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma on the top line in that order. Freud would tell you the OSU logo in the middle would be a good sign. The other five below are North Texas, UTSA, Texas A&M, UNLV, and Texas Tech.
This is definitely an uncertain situation. We know Nickens has a good relationship with Oklahoma State and in particular with Cowboys offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Kasey Dunn. His last unofficial visit came at OU. He has always been complimentary and shown an appreciation for Dunn and Oklahoma State.
This one will be very interesting to see on August 12. Nickens said details are coming on a commitment party. Cowboys fans hope they are a special guest for the festivities.
