Off Day Observations with Oklahoma State Football Fall Camp

STILLWATER – Observations from one week of fall camp and seven practices, so call it officially a week and a day into 2023 fall camp. It’s a rule that you have to start with generalizations and we will. This team is closer, more determined, has a greater work ethic, and the culture that Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy wants for his football team and overall program.

Some take on DE's would be interesting Robert. If I've missed it sorry. But seems every great line has an NFL worthy of a look type at at least one side DE who can make havoc for QB.

I heard RA today indicate one of the walk-on OL freshman decided this was not what he wanted to do and left the team. Not sure of anyone else.

Is it not concerning that we still haven't found two deep line up in Oline? Typically the position of injuries, I understand them trying to get backups ready with lot of rotation. But we are less than 4 weeks from first game, we should atleast have two deep picked out.

Also would have like more information on DE and LB group as well: But a great update none the less.

Not putting words in his mouth, but I think what RA was saying is that we have 3 deep o-line, and they are all competing to be on the first or second string. It has been a while since we have had a legitimate 3 deep at o-line. Once they settle on ones and twos we will see what we have, but that sounds promising to me.

And I wouldn't let the lack of formal statements cause one to think the coach doesn't know his starting five and next one or two off the bench. Gundy and his staff are playing the announcement of a depth chart a little differently these days.

The OLine is in extra good shape with so many available guys with deep experience.

We have FIVE 5th year Seniors with Birmingham back, plus Brooks (JR) and the new LT GradTransfer Dalton Cooper trying to make the starting lineup.

That's 7 guys with deep experience trying for 5 spots. (Birmingham, Cooper, Brooks, Miterko, Michalski, Springfield, Wilson)

There are at least 5 guys capable of being strong 2nd unit, and that's not counting the Freshmen that are trying to make themselves known. (Austin Kawecki, Jake Henry, Jack Endean, Noah Mckinney UNLV, Davis Dotson)

I probably missed some, and I didn't list most of the incoming Freshmen. (Like Sanders from Stillwater)

All you guys are saying good positive stuff about Oline. That's great. I look forward to us performing average or above average ( aka 2021 Oline before CCG) this year.

Will immediately take our team from bottom to top half.

Is arland Bruce a guy that left? Looks like he is gonna be in trouble for some sort of tampering at iowa

Yeah, one of your FOUR STARS BUB who didn't realize it was ILLEGAL TO GAMBLE IN IOWA!!! Thank F'ing God he didn't play in a game for us, the NCAA might have given us the DEATH PENALTY!!!

Thinking Ricky lolohea left which would be a hit. Don't see him on the roster. Struggled to land any d lineman last class so can't afford the losses
