Watch: Mike Gundy's Media Availability Ahead of Arizona State
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy met with the media on Monday to put a bow on the win over Central Arkansas and look ahead to Arizona State.
The Cowboys are coming off a 27-13 win over Central Arkansas, while the Sun Devils are coming off a close 24-21 home win over Southern Utah on Thursday, August 31.
He discussed a wide range of topics, everything from quarterback play, the defensive performance, the offensive line and run game, as well as addressing some of the injuries which occurred. One of those injuries being linebacker Justin Wright, who posted on social media that he’ll be back in week 5.
“[Arizona State’s] more active on defense than when we played them [last year],” Mike Gundy said. “They have some mid-range body types. They’re a five-technique, their rush guys; 225-240-ish, in that area. Long, rangy guys that are very active. Their linebackers are running well. Their scheme and concept is what y’all saw when we played Boise [State]; they’re going to play a lot of man and they played good man in the last game. They have a young quarterback that’s very athletic and has got a cannon [for an arm].”
