Natasha Mack Picks Up Two More National Honors

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State’s Natasha Mack added to her lengthy list of accolades on Tuesday with her inclusion on the 2021 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Midseason Team as well as her recognition as the U. S. Basketball Writers Association’s Ann Meyers Drysdale Women’s National Player of the Week.

It also marks the second time in her career she has received national player of the week recognition after doing so last year. The honors also come after Mack was recently named one of 20 players to the John R. Wooden Award Late Season Watch List.

On Monday, she was named the Big 12 Player of the Week for the third time this season. Mack helped the Cowgirls to a pair of victories last week, extending OSU’s winning streak to five in a row to reach the 10-win plateau in league play for the first time since 2017-18.

The senior forward averaged 22.5 points and 18.5 rebounds in those wins over Kansas and Oklahoma. She tallied her 12th and 13th double-doubles of the year as well. Mack matched her season high with 19 rebounds against Kansas, while scoring 19 points on an 8-of-15 shooting effort. Additionally, she recorded four steals and blocked four shots.

Against Oklahoma, the Lufkin, Texas native connected on 12 of her 17 shots from the floor en route to a team-high 26 points. She grabbed 18 boards against the Sooners to go with five assists, five blocks and two steals. With her block total, she moved into first place on the school’s all-time list with 176, needing just 46 games to reach the mark.

Previously, Mack has been named to the Naismith Women's Defensive Player of the Year Watch List and is also a candidate for the Katrina McClain Award as well as a preseason All-Big 12 pick.
