Bowman Speaks to the Media After Practice for the First Time
STILLWATER – After the Iowa State game in Ames quarterback Alan Bowman was chomping at the bit, like all of his teammates to get back out on the field and play another game. The schedule forced them to wait with the bye week and this week Bowman spoke with the media for the first time on home turf. He can’t wait to play Kansas State on Friday night in the black out game. He said Kansas State is the usual disciplined defense and will make it hard on the offense. Now he is getting reps and he believes the offense is ready for the challenge.
He knows in answering one preporter’s question that this is where he wants to be and after playing at Texas Tech and then transferring to Michigan and now at Oklahoma State, it is all worth it to play the game he loves.
“I love it! There is nothing I’d rather do than be out here in Boone Pickens Stadium and playing in front of these raucous fans,” Bowman answered. “It is what I crave. It is what I feel I was born to do. I’m happiest when I’m out there. It is what I want to do.”
The moving around hasn’t been easy. He has learned at each stop, some football lessons and some life lessons. He has a strong support group with family, close friends, and his dogs.
“Hard decisions were made, life decisions moving across the country, but I think this is what was best for me and best for my family,” Bowman added. “I’m so happy to be here.
“Oh yeah and the dogs. They liked Michigan and the grass up there was unbelievable that they got to run around in,” Bowman added about his dogs. “They got to see some crazy stuff and the snow. My one dog Cheetoh likes the snow but I don’t know if we’re going to get about two feet of snow at one time. Moving around those dogs have been with me ever since and my fiance’ as well.”
I told Bowman that he may want to change the order next time he identifies who has been moving around with him. His fiance’ is Jessica McCardel and she is a beautiful young lady that should get top billing over Cheetoh.
He smiled and agreed.
