Devon Jordan Surprises with Announcement and Commits to OU
MORGANTOWN, W.V. – The announcement came as a complete surprise as Tulsa Union cornerback Devon Jordan had not put any word out there that he was going to make his recruiting commitment other than telling Pokes Report and other outlets in recent weeks that he was closing in on a decision. Then on Friday with no warning he called Oklahoma coaches and told them that he was committed to the University of Oklahoma.
A consensus three-star prospect, Jordan is listed at both 5-11 and 6-0 and weighs right around 170-pounds. He is a combo football and tracks sprint athlete with elite speed and good instincts. He had 14 offers overall. We spoke with Jordan when Tulsa Union visited and crushed Yukon on their homecoming. He told us that he was making an official visit to TCU after the game, which he did. He also told us he was getting serious about his decision.
Jordan’s decision seemed to come down to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State where he was at the game last week against Kansas. He also seemed to be interested in TCU amd Alabama.
“Shock the world,” Jordan said to The Tulsa World when asked why he made the decision now and kind of surprising.
Oklahoma State is still involved in several offensive linemen, a quarterback that is likely heading their way, and a few other high school prospects they are still working on with 15 commitments in the 2024 class. They will also look for transfer portal additions in December and January.
