Oklahoma State Falls in Latest CFP Rankings Following Loss to UCF, Remains in Top-25
STILLWATER – While Oklahoma State slid down the rankings following the 45-3 loss to UCF this past weekend, the Pokes remained in the top-25 of the updated College Football Playoff Rankings Tuesday night at No. 23.
That’s down from being ranked No. 15 the previous week. While I don’t think I saw them completely falling out of the top-25, I do think staying at No. 23 is rather generous of the committee.
You can view the full rankings here.
Ranked ahead of the Cowboys in the latest rankings is Texas at No. 7, OU at No. 14 and Kansas State at No. 21. Just for grins, KU rounds out the top 25 at No. 25. In the rather confusing Big 12 tiebreaker for the title game, which you can read about here, the Cowboys hold the tiebreaker over both OU and K-State to get back to Arlington and the Big 12 title game should they win out.
The Cowboys have a chance to improve their record, and possibly their ranking, this coming weekend as they travel to Houston for a showdown with the Cougars. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN2.
