STILLWATER – Jason Brook Jr. has come out publicly on social media (X) and announced he it returning for (a special 2024 season) at Oklahoma State next season as he joins offensive line teammates left tackle Dalton Cooper, center Joe Michalski, left guard Cole Birmingham, right tackle Jake Springfield. This season Cooper started 12 games and has 48 career starts, 36 of those are Texas State. Brimingham has nine starts this season and 25 in his career. Michalski has 13 starts in 2023 and 22 overall. Springfield has 10 this season and 39 starts overall. Brooks Jr. has started seven starts in 2023 and 12 overall with five of those at Vanderbilt.

Taylor Miterko, who had three starts this season, is in the same situation with a year available. He is also missing practice this week as his mother has passed away. She had been in a long battle with cancer.

That is a total of 136 career starts for that fivesome. There is still no word on right guard Preston Wilson, who also has a COVID year available, had 11 starts this season and has 33 in his career.

The offensive line did a good job of blocking for Doak Walker Award winner Ollie Gordon II.

The more important numbers than the experience and career starts is the production and with the bowl game to go the offense has 5,475-yards total, 421.2-yards per game, and 5.8-yards per play. Running the football, Ollie Gordon II ran behind this offensive line and led the nation in rushing with 1,614-yards and 20 touchdowns. Gordon II won the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s top running back and is a consensus and likely a unanimous All-American.

On the whole, the offense ran for 2,040-yards on 420 attempts and averaged 156.9-yards a game and 4.9-yards a carry. The offensive line also allowed only 13 sacks, third best in the 14-team Big 12 this season.

The offensive line this season that has also seen younger players like Austin Kawecki, Davis Dotson, Noah McKinney, and even freshmen like Jack Endean and Jakobe Sanders show promise and thsoe players will compete with the older group for playing time next season. Competition is important to creating the best overall result on the field.

Now, it is clear that the NIL collective for Oklahoma State, Pokes with a Purpose and it’s spinoff in OL600 are responsible for the united return of so many of these veteran offensive linemen. Pokes with a Purpose just announced the opportunity for membership to help the collective. Here are the details on how you can become a member of Pokes with a Purpose.

The money that is donated through the program goes to NIL opportunities for OSU student-athletes and its impact is twofold – it supports the good work of local charities through service, involvement and promotion by OSU student-athletes and it helps OSU student-athletes in the modern landscape of college athletics.
