STILLWATER – The Kobe Black saga finally came to a close and while Oklahoma State was definitely in the race it was Texas that won out. I truly believe that one of the spoils for Texas in winning the Big 12 Championship Game on Dec. 2 in Arlington 49-21 was they also picked up Black’s attention that day. I believe that he was either even or very close to it when sitting there watching with his family as his brother Korie and the Cowboys battled Texas.

I'm just hoping Korie comes back and doesn't join his brother in Austin next season. I'm worried people had it backwards when they were talking about Kobe joining his brother in Stillwater. I'm sure Texas has thought about offering an attractive NIL package deal for the brothers. I hope I'm wrong.

With Nixon portalized and Collins no longer eligible,, will we seek a RB via the portal? We have Valehai, spelling is clearly wrong but you know who I mean. Then there is frosh Fields and maybe Allen Hendrix out of South Carolina. Honestly, what portal rb wants to come To osu and sit on the bench and watch OG? He will want to play not watch! We might end up really thin at the position, maybe I'm wrong.

I would hope even if guys like Ollie aren't coming back they let the coaches know early so they can snag someone before all the good backs are gone. Backs as an example insert whatever position. We need a Wr and they are fine all but I feel like we are settling at Qb with Rangel or Bowman.

Is the 2024 RB from SC, Hendrix, still coming in for a visit this weekend?

I would hope the freshman from Nebraska gets a fair shot. I personally don't think either Bowman or Rangle bring that special ability to turn a game that Sanders had at times.

why would he not get a "fair shot"? Did Rangel not get a fair shot (and Gunnar) after redshirting?

and.... it took Sanders 3 years to start to play decent, he certainly wasn't all-world in his RS-Fresh season (or Soph). He couldn't beat out Corndog, he barely beat out Brown the following year, and IMO, he would not have beaten out Illingworth if not for Shane's lack of time due to Covid.

Sanders finally got over his happy feet, and learned the playbook, his Senior season, and played better.

I hope Flores has what it takes, or Rangel has improved, we need better QB play, but I'm hesitant to make any projections on them based only on a RS Fresh season.

Gundy said last season that everyone, freshmen, seniors, portal guys will have a fair shot in the off season irrespective of their status. In this portal age, I agree with coach Gundy too.

Shows the players we recruit that, if you are good, you will get a shot even if you are not experienced.

Lots of moving parts and pieces right now. It will be good to see how all of this plays out in January... Congrats to Jonas on his achievement. Thanks for the update.

It's hard to look at how many really good experienced QBs there are in the portal and think we aren't trying to get one. Most experienced line we've had in years, Best back in the nation, Presley, Owens, Stribling, and Shettron and all of that could go to waste with poor Qb play. Gundy is generally a guy who will stay with a returning Qb so if Bowman comes back I'd imagine he's the guy.

I think Korie going to Texas could very possibly be another transfer holding a clipboard on Saturdays. Texas is already loaded and, at the end of the day, he could very well get beaten out by his own brother. That would seriously suck for him and us. Sanders part 2?
