Oliphant Decides on Announcment on Thursday and His Visit to OSU was Strong
STILLWATER – St. Louis (University) Mo. cornerback/safety and all-around athlete on the football field is back from his official visit to Oklahoma State. By all accounts including my eyes at practice on Friday Oliphant and his parents had a great visit. The 6-4, 185-pound All-District performer has already put out a graphic detailing that he will make his decision public the day after signing day.
“Yes, I’m going to wait until 6:30 on Thursday night to make my announcement,’ Oliphant told Pokes Report. “Thanks for your comment on the graphic. A friend on mine made that. It does look good.”
“I wanted to wait and have all my family and friends there to share the announcement with, he added. “I liked my visit. Everything about it was right. Coach Cam O’Neal was my host and I met with all the coaches and then my player host was Cam Epps.”
That made perfect sense having a St.Louis guy show a St.Louis prospect around.
This past season Oliphant had 86 tackles, 66 unassisted tackles, 2.0 tackles-for-loss, 3.0 sacks, a pair of interceptions (one returned 40-yards for a touchdown), four fumbles recovered, and the 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
He has a chance to work his way into several different areas and positions at Oklahoma State. I could see him playing at either corner or any of the three safety positions in Bryan Nardo’s defense. He is also a natural to show up on special teams in his career.
Now, the wait is on for the decision.
