STILLWATER – When the topic of who might be next at Oklahoma State after the very successful Mike Gundy gets tossed around there are two names that get thrown out first and both are currently in the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken was interviewed multiple times during the NFL Wildcard week with the Ravens having the bye, Monken was avaialble for interviews. His name gets mentioned at Oklahoma State as he is popular and a good friend of head coach Mike Gundy. The other name that comes up early is former Cowboys quarterback Zac Robinson. He too is being interviewed around the league some.

Baltimore Ravens - NFL
Todd Monken

Monken, who has work to do with the Ravens playing Houston and likely beyond in the NFL playoffs, is a candidate for an NFL head coaching job. Monken has been an offensive coordinator at Cleveland and Tampa Bay as well as taking the University of Georgia to back-to-back CFP Championships as their OC and play caller.

Robinson interviewed this past week with the Chicago Bears for their vacant offensive coordinator job and is listed as a soon to be interviewee for the New Orleans Saints and the Cincinnati Bengals. Robinson is very aware and has worked with Bengals head coach Zac Taylor.

An update to this story is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Las Vegas Raiders, and New England Patriots are all interviewing him for their offensive coordinator vacancies.

Both have been mentioned as possible Gundy successors at OSU, but Gundy with 18 straight winning seasons and bowl trips is showing no signs of slowing down and will return one of his most experienced teams ever in 2024.

Robinson, who played quarterback at Oklahoma State from 2005-2009 nd threw for 8,317-yards and 66 touchdowns with Mike Gundy as his head coach and offensive coordinator, is looked at around the NFL as an expert in the Sean McVay offense. Robinson has coached for McVay now for five seasons handling both wide receivers (initially) and then quarterbacks. He is listed now as the passing game coordnator.

Prior to going to work for McVay, Robinson was an analyst at Pro Football Focus and an instructor at The Quarterback Ranch in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Robinson personally worked with quarterbacks from high school age to college to NFL quarterbacks on technique.

After Oklahoma State, Robinson was a seventh-round draft pick of the New England Patriots. He spent time in tne NFL with New England, Seattle, Detroit, and Cincinnati. He used his playing experience to gain knowledge and give him an avenue into coaching.

Robinson, married and a young father as he and his wife have a daughter. He is definitely a strong candidate to move up the NFL coaching ladder.
