Oklahoma State Picks Up a Double in Cincinnati with the Isaacs as OL Preferred Walk-Ons

So Robert, when kids come in as PWO's, does it mean anything projection wise that these are likely scout team types for a long time or does the possibility exist that one or both is just about as good a prospect as some scholarship OL recruits (which means 1 or 2 years out normally) but we're out of scholarships. Also....has the NIL money situation taken us back to (the '60's) where Texas, Bama or OU can have 200 players stacked on their rosters again? Are there any limits (other than NIL funds)?

Great question about NIL maybe opening the door to larger rosters filled with walk-ons receiving $. I doubt that will be the case with the Pokes but do not want to underestimate the biggest programs.

The article and RA has stated that PWO's are getting some money. So yes rosters have expanded, and schools with more money can do more of it. But we are using this option to continue to bring in good PWO players.

My understanding with PWO's is they are usually players that have development potential. You bring them in and they either don't pan out, they don't develop enough to move onto the roster but contribute as scout team and special teams players, or they do develop and go on scholarship.

Again my thoughts are that the staff treat the kids well and they do have a legitimate shot to play IF they are good enough. That may mean more than dollars in many instances.

You're right...PWO's are treated as full team members just like scholarship players. The Pokes have actually done pretty well with their PWO program. Every team has a PWO program. My question, actually Orangeheart72's question, was really if other programs were using NIL $ to expand their rosters in a NEW way and gain scholarship level players without actually offering scholarships.
