Cowboys Offer 2023 Lake Travis Quarterback Bo Edmundson

Oklahoma State sent out their second 2023 quarterback offer Friday afternoon to Lake Travis’ Bo Edmundson.

This is Edmundson’s first power 5 offer, his third overall, joining SMU and UTSA.

In his sophomore season, in which he only played five games, Edmundson threw for 1,709 yards and 17 touchcowns with only two interceptions. He averaged 281.2 yards per game for a very strong Lake Travis team.

I spoke with Edmundson briefly about the offer and he said “I love the [Oklahoma State] offense. I have been watching them forever, so it’s exciting to have an opportunity to play for them.”

Edmundson has a very young recruitment but now that he is the full-time starter for Lake Travis with offers starting to roll in, he will pick up attention very shortly. At 6’3 180 pounds, coaches will love the measurables.

It is no surprise to see that Lake Travis is putting out yet another division one caliber quarterback, seeing how they have put out 10 in a row... yes 10.

Lake Travis’ quartberback lineage consists of:

Todd Reesing (All time Kansas leading passer)

Garrett Gilbert (5 star prospect signed with Texas, transferred to SMU, now with Dallas Cowboys)

Michael Brewer (Signed with Texas Tech, transferred to Virginia Tech)

Dominic DeLira (Signed with Iowa State)

Collin Lagasse (Signed with SMU)

Baker Mayfield (Signed with Texas Tech, transferred to Oklahoma, Heisman winner, 1st overall draft pick, plays for Cleveland Browns)

Charlie Brewer (Signed with Baylor, transferred to Utah)

Hudson Card (4 star prospect signed with Texas)

Nate Yarnell (Signed with Pittsburgh)

The QB room appears to be getting crowded...are we expecting some transfer portal actions from this group?

you many be getting confused by the class (2023) or skipping over the terms "offer" and "committed"

we only have Sanders, Illingworth and perhaps Gundy expected to actually see the field, on our team.

We did not take a QB in the current class (2021) (technically, I guess, Gundy delayed coming to campus and is a walkon in this class)

The 3-star kid announced last week is still only a commitment (2022), that has yet to play his Senior season (may yet get competition for his services), if he comes and if he redshirts a year, then Sanders should be gone by then.

This article is only talking about offers to kids practically fresh out of Junior HIgh (2023). Even Illingworth will likely be gone by the time these kids redshirt a year (if they even commit)

I would say no.

Sanders probably plays one more year then heads to the draft (If he plays well)

Illingworth takes over after this year and is the guy for a couple of years.

Rangel backups Illingworth and gets the job when he leaves.

Everyone (right now) has a path to starting at some point, which is what people care about. The things that could throw the situation off would be injuries, demotions, etc.

Not sure if Gunnar Gundy ever starts but I could see some healthy competition between Rangel and Gundy. It would make both of them better.

California,

What did you mean by Rangel "may yet get competition for his services"?

I meant he has not signed a LOI, or enrolled on campus (he's still only a HS junior). I mean some other team may yet try to get him to flip during his Senior season.

Is that not correct, the rules of contact and early signing keep changing, that's how it use to be.

Okay yeah I got you, yes that is correct, I was just confused at first thats on me sorry lol. Rangel and his family told me that they will not entertain any other outside recruitment now that he has committed.
