STILLWATER – Oklahoma State finally got back to a little football today. The rules allow the coaching staff to spend a certain amount of time each week in meetings and on the field with walk thrus. Last offseason the defense under Bryan Nardo used those opportunities to learn the schemes that Nardo brought in, while the offense worked heavily on gap scheme run concepts.

This is probably an unpopular take but I'm not convinced Walterscheid returning is such a big deal. He hasn't really "popped" IMO and I bet we have more talented guys waiting in the wings.

MidT I think Waltershied ended up being very solid for the line last year. I'd not be surprised if he starts in a two DE set. We only have two young guys coming up behind him as I recall that are ready to compete. We also have the portal guy and the new, touted frosh. So seems to me this only gets us to 4 or 5 (not counting the DT that moves over or Collins from LB). He's very important depth even if second team.
