I see at least two positives tagging along with this.
One: Having someone in a respected position in the NCAA might prevent (or at least lessen) any perceived violations oSu may incur during Chad Weiberg's tenure. The NCAA has a history of bad calls going against our Cowboys while any other school (ahem...KANSAS) gets a slap on the wrist if any sanction at all.
Two: Will the AD Weiberg make the tough (not really that tough), but necessary (really necessary) call to show BBHC Boynton the door?
Although it wasn't Weiberg's doing in the allowing of a good coach, Brad Underwood, to get away due to a bad contract, nor was it Weiberg's hiring and assinine contract to HC Boynton, our AD has to make the move to move us away from the AD Holder's parting screw-up.
We all wanted Boynton to be the man that would make us forget the years between Eddie Sutton and now.
But the fact is, OSU basketball has suffered through decades of bad hires and even worse contracts.
Now, we OSU fans are wishing success to AD Chad Weiberg to bring us out of the dessert and back into the Promised Land of OSU basketball. Heck, we'd even be excited to see a team that knew how to play well and were coached by someone that knew how to coach.
I trust AD Weiberg is not going to fall for the loser mentality that requires any and all OSU sports coaches be from OSU. And Doug Gottlieb is not the messiah.
Congratulations, Chad Weiberg on your appointment on the NCAA committee.
Now, get back to work on OSU sports -- starting with firing Mike Boynton ASAP.
